2m/70cm Repeaters

The club operates a VHF (2 meter) repeater coordinated to use the 146.820 MHz repeater pair (input is '-', with a standard 600 kHz offset requiring the use of PL / CTCSS tone at 146.2 Hz for access) and a UHF (70 centimeter) repeater coordinated to use the 448.775 MHz repeater pair (input is '-' with a standard 5 MHz offset requiring the use of PL / CTCSS tone at 146.2 Hz for access). These repeaters are located on club-owned property up on Great North Mountain, west of Winchester. The site is at approximately 2,200 feet above sea level, providing an excellent coverage footprint across the Northern Shenandoah Valley.

SVARC repeaters are 'open' for licensed amateur operators with privileges to use the associated frequency bands and modes (all current U.S. classes of amateur radio licenses are authorized use of these frequencies and modes), and invited to try them out and make use of them.
